About Designer Therapy

Luxury Jewelry Handcrafted for you with Authentic Designer Buttons and Hardware.

I started collecting and trading designer buttons as a hobby. I adored their beauty and uniqueness. I discovered an entire network of high-end collectors and ended up becoming one myself.

Around the same time, my dear grandmother passed away. She had a beautiful collection of vintage jewelry that had never been worn. I wanted to give it a new life, so I started pairing it with my designer button collection. Thus, 3 years ago, Designer Therapy was born.

Designer Therapy is now a thriving, woman-owned small business. Designer buttons are acquired in small batches and our jewelry is handmade in limited quantities. Many of our buttons are rare collectibles. We create classic, timeless, pieces you will love wearing for all occasions.

We have several unique offerings on our website. Scroll through our Bridal Collection, full of jewelry fit for a bride and her squad. Don’t miss our popular Charm Bar, where you can create your own personalized necklaces and bracelets from our selection of designer charms. We also recently started offering authentic, pre-loved designer handbags which we purchase through our vetted collectors. Be sure to become a DT Insider on our website, to find out about restocks, new products, promotions and giveaways.

I am always on the hunt for new designer buttons and hardware to create luxury jewelry just for you. I invite you to check back often – and if you see a piece you love, it's a good idea to grab it quickly as many pieces sell out fast!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for visiting Designer Therapy.

Where do your designer buttons come from?
Our designer buttons come from high-end collectors located mostly in Europe. Many are vintage and have been snipped off pieces of clothing no longer worn. Others were originally produced as replacement buttons for garments. Our jewelry incorporates authentic designer buttons that are in very good or like-new condition and their history is part of their charm. We are firm believers in upcycling and sustainability.

Are they authentic?
Absolutely.  We have built solid relationships with very reputable collectors. We also partner with authentication experts. Whenever possible, the garment the buttons came from is indicated in the product description.

What is your jewelry made of?
Most of our chains are gold-filled or silver. Gold filled jewelry does not tarnish or fade and is safe for people with metal allergies. Our earring backs are either gold filled or surgical steel. Certain pieces are made of steel or are high-quality gold plated. All our jewelry is hypoallergenic and nickel free. Further details are on our product descriptions.

How do I know my jewelry size?
Jewelry sizes are listed in the product descriptions on our website. The best way to check your size is to measure the length of your favorite necklace, bracelet or earrings. That way you'll always know your perfect size!

Can your jewelry be resized or customized?
In some cases it can and other cases not. Necklaces and bracelets on link chains can be shortened. Jewelry that has been glued or welded can usually not be altered. If you have a question about a specific piece you are most welcome to email designertherapy@mail.com and we will do our best to customize for you.

Do all designer buttons have a designer stamp on the back?
They do not – most designers do not stamp their buttons anymore.  If you see one with a stamp it is likely the button is older or vintage.

The piece I want is sold out, what should I do?
Designer Buttons are acquired in small batches and our jewelry is handmade in limited quantities. If you see a piece you love, it's a good idea to grab it quickly as many of our pieces sell out. If a piece you love is sold out, you can sign up for our waiting list by visiting the product on our website or emailing us at designertherapy@mail.com.

How should I care for my designer button jewelry?
To keep your jewelry looking new, we recommend cleaning it with a soft, dry cloth. Be sure to remove it before showering and swimming and avoid cleaning agents. Most of all - enjoy wearing your jewelry!
